A Christmas Wish: Let's help BigOak Baskets & Gifts

For those of you who follow, have subscribed to, or even just read my blog once in a while, you may have read the feature I did on BigOak Baskets in October. Christy Pick, owner of this remarkable, small, home-based business, has worked very hard over the last year and a half to grow and build her business. Christy's smart, personable and brilliantly, entrepreneurally minded. She's put smiles on so many of our faces with her gorgeous creations, and now it's time that we can give back and put a smile on Christy's face.

 Christy has entered Small Business Big Wishes, in the hopes of winning $5000 towards her small business. Christy has a love of family, and one of the reasons she stepped out to pursue BigOak Baskets, was so that one day, she and her husband, Jeremy, could start a family and she could stay home and raise her kids, while also being able to contribute financially. It's a dream many of us mom's have, and unfortunately, we are not all able to see this as a reality.

As a stay-at-home mom myself, who only is able to bring a little bit to the table financially, by way of the Medicine Hat Winter Market, I completely understand where Christy is coming from. To know your family is provided for, but still be blessed to watch your kids grow, see all the firsts, and not have to pay someone else to raise your kids, is the ultimate gift we stay-at-home momma's can have. Yes, there are those working momma's who absolutely love their careers and enjoy working, and that's totally awesome too! Not every woman is called, or desires, to be a stay-at-home mom, and that's why our diverse world is so amazing :) We love you career momma's! I, myself, have always desired to stay at home, but it would be nice to also help with the bills whilst doing so.
